#throwback - The Symposium for a Climate-Social City
CLIMATE ACTION DAYS Linz 2024
Europe and Its Cities: United for Climate Protection
On November 29, 2024, numerous attendees gathered at the Linz Wissensturm to explore this important topic.
Johanna Roniger from the Context Institute for Climate Issues delivered a keynote titled "Forward and/or Backward – What Opportunities Does European Climate Policy Offer Cities Like Linz?" Her presentation focused on the role of EU-level regulations. Following her, Oliver Schrot, founder of zwanzigvierzig, a consultancy specializing in climate policy and climate neutrality, bridged the discussion to the role of cities in climate action with his talk, "Hopeful Champions of Climate Protection – Must and Can Cities Live Up to This Expectation?" Finally, Kristina Eisfeld from the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub concluded the keynote session with her presentation, "The Green Deal as an Opportunity: Local Responses to Europe’s Climate Goals."
Afterward, participants had the opportunity to join one of four parallel workshops.
