From Linz to Singapore - Robotics made in Linz on course for world finals!
What a great day at the Old Town Hall! Over 100 technology enthusiasts sent their self-built robots into the race at the Austrian final of the World Robot Olympiad Austria on 24 June - with great success for our city:
TNMS 3 Stelzhamerschule Linz qualified for the 2025 world final in Singapore.
With almost flawless runs, the team took victory in the Junior age group (11-15 years) - a huge success that shows: TECHNIKTALENTE from Linz are ready for the world stage! Our City Councillor Thomas Gegenhuber, AK President Andreas Stangl and Member of Parliament Elisabeth Manhal congratulated the winning teams.
Behind the success is a strong network:
DIGITAL MILE Linz supports robotics teams directly in schools with the TECHNIKTALENTE project - low-threshold, inclusive, sustainable. Made possible by the pioneering work of Herbert Ibinger (Techno-Z Braunau), who organises the WRO Austria and is happy to share his successful concept, and supported by committed partners from the DIGITAL MILE such as the KEBA Group, which actively promotes enthusiasm for technology among young people and supports the TNMS 3 team.
Anyone can do technology - if we create the right conditions.
In Linz - now certified as MINT Region Upper Austria Central in the MINT Regions Service Hub - we are focussing on the broadest possible technology education on site, peer-to-peer learning and fair opportunities for everyone through many different offers for all age groups.
Of course, we would also like to congratulate the "Eisbärlis" team from MS Riedau, who once again won the senior category. The two WRO-experienced students will once again represent Austria at the World Robot Olympiad in the 2025 world finals in Singapore.
Thank you to everyone who is supporting this movement - especially the coaches, teachers, partners and supporters of TECHNIKTALENTE - and of course: Congratulations to the team from TNMS 3 and all the other teams who successfully competed at the WRO Austria Final in Linz.
