The Innovationshauptplatz has been open since July 2, 2019. On the one hand, the Innovation Office of the City of Linz takes its name from its location at Pfarrgasse 3, directly on Linz's main square. On the other hand, it underlines its claim to be the hub for innovation projects in the Upper Austrian capital. Projects that go beyond start-ups, high-tech and the IT industry and can touch all urban areas of life, from education, the environment and social issues to culture.

Objectives of the Innovationshauptplatz:

  • Advice, mediation and accompaniment of creative people and groups, as well as their connection with supporting networks and the city of Linz
  • Promotion of innovative ideas and projects through cooperation, infrastructure, assistance, public relations
  • Development and implementation of own proposals, projects and events to establish the idea of ​​innovation in the people of Linz - preferably in public urban areas
  • Contributions to the implementation and further development of the 1st Linz Innovation Program, which was approved by the municipal council in May 2018
  • Preparation of the participation of the City of Linz in the EU Urban Competition "Innovative Capital"
